The 3rd Annual ORC Disc Golf Classic is a PDGA XC-Tier fundraiser event with all proceeds going back to the ORC Youth Sports Scholarship Program! This tournament is a great introductory for those who may want to learn how to play in tournaments along with those seasoned veterans who play in tournaments regularly! Novice and Junior players will play one round of 18 holes. All other divisions will play two rounds of 18 holes. Divisions of 3 or less could possibility be combined. This will be determined on a division by division case basis.
The Ottawa Recreation Commission is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Ottawa Disc Golf Fest in Forest Park on June 2021! This day will be full of activities such as a Dynamic Discs Trilogy Challenge, Doubles Disc Golf Tournament, Frisbee Games, longest drive contest, putting contests, free swim day, family activities, arts and crafts vendors, softball tournament, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and so much more!
NEW coming June 2021 is the ORC 3-on-3 Hoops Tournament. Grab your buddies and get a team together for a new activity during the Fest! This double elimination tournament will begin at 12:00 noon during Disc Golf Fest. The tournament is limited to the first 16 teams.

Shake, rattle and roll away the winter chills. Bring yourself, a friend, your sweetie or your spouse and dance to your heart’s content! Drinks, snacks, dancing, and more await you at the ORC Prom and Sock Hop!
COVID-19 throwing a curveball into one of your favorite holiday traditions? The ORC has you covered! The ORC elves have been working with Santa and Mrs. Claus on the best way to get a picture with him this holiday season! Join the ORC elves as we welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to the Goppert Building on Saturday, December 12th from 9 am – 12 pm for a socially distanced picture! The Santa and Mrs. Claus ask that you bring a canned food donation for Hope House so we can spread joy to others in our community!
NEW in 2020, the Jingle Bell Rock Scavenger Hunt! The Jingle Bell Rock location will be hidden in a public place within the City limits of Ottawa! The ORC will give daily clues to its location each day on the ORC Facebook page!
Participants should not trespass, should not destroy private or public property in an attempt to find the Jingle Bell Rock. Any participant found searching on private land or using private land to access or gain unfair advantage to the Jingle Bell Rock may be immediately disqualified. Anyone participating in the Contest must follow these Official Rules, as well as all the state, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations of all locations where they search for the Jingle Bell Rock. No destruction of private or public property is necessary to find the Jingle Bell Rock. No risk-taking is required to locate the Jingle Bell Rock. The Jingle Bell Rock will not be hidden on any private roadways or private property, will not be buried or attached to any man-made structure, and will be in plain sight when viewed from the proper angle.
The winner will receive a full Holiday meal valued at $100 from Price Chopper! The meal includes: a 12-14 lb Honeysucle White Smoked or Roasted Turkey, 4 lbs of creamy mashed potatoes, 2 lbs of homestyle gravy, 2 lbs cranberry orange salad, your choice of three 3 lb side dishes, your choice of one premium dessert, and one dozen dinner rolls! Contest will end on December 20th!
NEW in 2020, the Great Santa Hunt is a QR Code scavenger hunt! Posters of Santa will be placed throughout Ottawa. Each clue to the location of another Santa can be found by scanning the QR code on the Santa poster! Participants will be given a holiday themed question at each Santa and must submit the correct answers to all 10 questions in order to be eligible for a drawing of a holiday turkey and ham! The starting location will be the ORC Goppert Building!

It is rumored that Santa and his elves will be scattering candy canes in downtown Ottawa! Come join us as we search for the hidden candy canes and other great prizes. The hunt is being held in conjunction with the Christmas Parade and will take place immediately following the parade at the Franklin County Courthouse lawn!
Do you want to celebrate and ring in the New Year with your kiddo, but don’t want to keep them up until the midnight countdown? The ORC will be hosting a 12:00 pm celebration at the Goppert Building and we invite you to join us to welcome 2021! The kids will have an opportunity to create party decorations, wearables, and noise makers. At 11:55am, we will gather into the gymnasium and prepare for the countdown, balloon drop and celebration. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Classes
ORC Beginning Guitar class is designed to teach basic chords, simple two and three chord songs, and how to bridge each chord. This class will teach the students progressions and rhythm along with the anatomy and function of the guitar. Progressive skills classes will be held at the Goppert Building. Students must take the previous class in order to participate in the next level class.
Join Mr. Matt in the exploration of the outdoors. This 6 week class will cover the basics of participating in the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking and basic survival will be covered. Additional classes may be offered based on interest and availability.
Class Outline:
Are you looking for something fun to do with your child, that is stimulating but also provides time to be around other kiddos? The ORC is partnering with the Ottawa Library to offer Teaching Tots. This class will consist of story time, activities, dancing, singing, and playtime.
Teaching Tots will be offered to children age 2-5. An adult is required to attend with each child.
Arts & Crafts
The ORC offers four quarterly coloring contests each year! Coloring pages are available at the Goppert Building! All ages are welcome to participate!
